The Grand began with two people who believe in building things that last. Husband and wife Steve and Andreea Szasz found a traditional timber-frame hall on ten acres in York, South Carolina and decided it deserved a future. What stands here now is a venue shaped by design, faith, and hospitality, restored by the same two people who will likely greet you at your tour.
Steve Szasz
Owner and Director of Facilities, with a lifelong passion for land, architecture, and thoughtful design. Over the years, Steve has founded and led multiple businesses with his hands-on approach to bring vision to reality.
The Grand Venue represents the culmination of Steve’s experience and his belief that great places are intentionally designed to bring people together.
Andreea Szasz
Owner and General Manager with a heart of Hospitality. Andreea spent years in the restaurant business, hosting and preparing experiences that make people feel welcome and appreciated!
Her eye for beauty and attention to detail shape the soul of the venue.
Jamie Copenhaver
Event Manager and Day-of Coordinator. Jamie brings years of experience in the events industry and a genuine love for creating memorable experiences. Known for her attention to detail, organization, and calm approach, she understands just how many moving pieces come together to make an event feel effortless.
She loves working behind the scenes to anticipate needs, solve problems, and make sure every detail is thoughtfully handled. Jamie’s warm personality and commitment to excellent service make her a natural fit at The Grand, where she helps ensure every couple and their guests feel welcomed, cared for, and confident from beginning to end.
The Restoration
The Grand was restored beam by beam. The original craftsmanship stayed: the timber frame, the height, the bones of a building made by hand. Everything inside it was reimagined for celebrations, from the Grand Hall’s warm wood and natural light down to The Cellar, the speakeasy-style room tucked underneath where the night slows down.
The goal was never the largest venue near Charlotte. It was the most intentional one. Neither ballroom nor barn, The Grand was built so that a wedding here needs less: less rented decor, less production, less worry. The setting does the work.

We host one celebration at a time. When you book The Grand, the ten acres, Grand Hall, The Cellar, The Terrace, and both getting-ready suites are yours exclusively for the day. No shared spaces, no second event—just your celebration, from first arrival to last dance.
You have the freedom to choose the caterer and creative team that fit your vision, with a preferred vendor list available if you need it. The Grand is BYOB, with professional bar service provided exclusively through our trusted bar partner, Barrel & Cork. A venue manager is on site for every event, ensuring the property is ready for your day from start to finish.
